"I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet, a pawn, and a king [king???]. . ."
My laundry list of work experiences resembles a crazy quilt. I've lived in some really neat places and done some interesting jobs. Take a look:
2002-Present: St. Philip's Episcopal Church, Charleston, South Carolina
Director of Publications and Communications
I do all of the print work for this large, historic church. I have establshed a reputation for myself as "The Clip Art Queen." I can find clip art to illustrate and event or program! This is the best job I've had. . .SO FAR!
1998-2001: Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Columbia, SC
Director of Christian Education
This is a wonderful church full of loving and caring people. . .and some of the greatest kids around. My favorite "job" there was presenting the Children's Sermon. The kids and I had a terrific reltaionship.
1995-1998: Evangelical Lutheran Church in America,
Division for Congregational Ministries,
Chicago, Illinois
Associate Director for Adult Education
My time in Chicago was mostly spent packing and unpacking. I was on the road (or, more accurately, in the air) at least two weekends each month. It was fun getting to know people across the wider church, but the travel took a toll on me. I helped develop new learning programs for adults and I worked with a really neat staff of people.
Augsburg Fortress Publishers, Minneapolis, Minnesota
1993-1995:
Content Editor, Publications
1991-1993:
Senior Editor for Leadership Resources
This was a fun four years. I loved living in Minneapolis and I really loved editing and helping to develop new resources. In my last two years, I edited three quarterly devotional booklets and a monthly newsletter for Sunday School teachers. I met my very best friend there and I learned to LOVE winter. Shopping at the Mall of America was one of my favorite hobbies.
